It's been a while since I've been here. My medication has greatly improved my quality of life. I take Entyvio every 8 weeks and an enema weekly. So far, so good. I'm not in full blown remission, but its the closest I've been since I was diagnosed.
My question is about weight gain. So I've been underweight most of my life. When I flared, I lost about 30-40 pounds. As I healed, I expected to gain that weight back and even hoped to work out a lot more to hopefully put on weight as muscle. I definitely have seen muscle growth, but I have also seen fat in my stomach greatly increase. I bypassed my original weight before I flared. While some of it is muscle gains, I have been surprised at the huge increase in my weight around my stomach.
I've tracked my calories burned on my Fitbit for the past 2 months or so, and I have determined there is no way I'm eating more calories than what I'm burning daily. I've even started to eat healthier due to the UC. So I'm surprised to see the weight situation I'm in. Has this happened to anyone as they have healed? A large increase in weight in the stomach area?
