I've been doing great for 3 weeks now. Down to one BM in the morning. However, as each day passes, so does the ease of going. So I am starting Metamucil powder again. I assume it should be taken with meals? And where can you get the capsules?

Also now taking RenewLife Ultimate Flora Pro biotic.. 30 Billion active cultures. This is the 3rd brand I am trying. Not that I can tell the difference, but My GI wants me on them. I am still waiting the results of my Calprotectin test.

Quincy, I noticed you take probiotics at bedtime, is that a good time? Cause with the 13 other pills I take, it would be a tiny bit easier.

I take my Metamucil at bedtime and I take my probiotics at the same time. I don’t mind the powder so that’s what I use. I think you have to take several of the capsules throughout the day? But I could be wrong. You should be able to find them at drug stores or Walmart etc. or amazon.

Hi Sassy....i only take probiotics at bedtime when the digestive tract is more quiet and not a lot of digestion going on.

I take probiotics with the 2 main meals I eat daily....breakfast and supper.
The capsules are made by Metamucil and generic (I use the ones from Superstore) .
Health supplement stores would have psyllium husk powder in capsules. The ones I use are 525mg, and I take 12 daily.

The reason I use them is I can carry them with me when I eat out, easier to consume than the powder (ugh). As well, one can build up the dosage slowly. Start with one cap at one meal for a day or so, add one to another meal , and increase as you like.

I've only used the 50 billion of Ultimate Flora.
I double my probiotics (one of each kind in my signature) when flaring or if something feels wonky. Otherwise, I alternate.

So, Quincy, did you mean you take Metamucil at the 2 main meals? I will look for the capsules at Superstore. They would be much easier to travel with. Thanks

I will start taking the Probiotics at bedtime too, and next box I will try the 50 billion...lol

In December, after increasing my Mesalamine to Max dose, and trying the 4 gram enemas, my B12 went up to 592. (Normal =154-530). I had lots of back pains at the time, around the kidney areas. Then after testing a week ago, I went down to 550. I have been eating better, and sticking to the pills only for a month, so no pain now. Just wondering if too much Mesalamine affected my kidney or liver functions? I seem to pee yellow a lot more. However I changed my daily vitamin, maybe that's it.

Hi...my b12 is usually around 1400 for a long time. No one has answers for me. . Lots of reasons why as per research, but I do have Primary Biliary Chongitis, and liver disease could be a reason.

Yellow pee is from vitamin....b vitamins.

I have back issues, sompain is kind of a constant. Kidney is checked 2x yearly.

I only eat breakfast and supper...and a snack unless I go out for lunch. So yes....that's when I take them. Never on empty stomach and want itnto work with the food. If I had diarrhea, I might take a few between. My sleep schedule rules my eating.

The 50 billion has rhamnosus....that's why I take it. You can always get them as well and alternate (if you get a good sale price smile

Keep me updated how you're doing on them.
