Just wanted to offer my sympathy for the loss of your 93 yr old mother. It’s tough no matter how it happens, but I’m glad she went peacefully. What a long life she had! This must be a rough time to mourn!

My condolences for your loss.

Thank you, Flowers <3

Mom was born in 1926 so she grew up during the great depression. She met my dad on a blind date when he was in the military during WWII. They got married and had 6 kids. My dad died many years ago and 3 of my sisters died in the last 10 years. Mom had a long life and up until she was 90 she lived on her own in her own apartment.

My surviving sister (I also have a brother) and I joke that we are so sure that daddy is happy to have her join them because my other sisters have to be driving him insane by now lol

CCinPA, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. It's hard losing a parent & a sibling. It sounds like your mom had a good run & went in peace.

I lost both of my parents within 18 months of each other & they were in their early 70's. I lost my only brother almost 4 years ago, I miss him terribly too. We were 3 years apart in age & very close. I have 3 older sisters left. We live in different states. Like you & your sister we can laugh at some of those memories.

Take care.

Condolences CC - cherish the memories as you’re doing and enjoy a few smiles in the midst of your mourning. We all worry about elderly parents, relatives and friends. May she rest peacefully.

I lost my mom at 91 4 years ago, after a 4-year long ugly battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s. It’s been hard to see past the last 2 dreadful years of her life to remember the good memories. But the bad does start to fade with time. My mom was born in 1924 and married my dad at the end of WWII. The times they lived through!

Thank you everyone. Your kind words are appreciated greatly.

Flowers ... so sorry about your mom. I am grateful that my mother had a sharp mind. Alzheimers is such a difficult disease to deal with. You are so right about everything that generation lived through. Almost 100 years ... so many changes they lived through.
