Getting super nervous for my scope on Thursday. My last colonoscopy was 5 years ago when I was diagnosed. When I did my first prep I was only given 500 ml of this fizzy drink to ingest prior to my scope. The new GI I’m seeing wants me to drink the 4 litre PEG prep....I don’t drink a ton of fluids as it is. This task seems quite daunting and I’m getting nervous for it. Any advice is helpful, thanks!

Good luck smw

I could never drink that much! You could ask for a different prep, picoprep is easy.

Otherwise just drink as much as you can and don't worry.

Hope it goes well

I haven't found any easy prep. Even if you drink the picoprep, which I find the easiest to get down, you still have to drink tons of liquid in addition. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. I hold the title of worst prepper, so at least you can cling to that.

I drink white grape juice for mine. It's a lot better than the gatorade

I have a colonoscopy on friday and I have to use Peglyte. Ugh. Last time I could use Pico salax and that was much better. I don't know why but I guess they changed the rules, I couldn't even find pico in the pharmacy. Also, since my appointment is at 9 am, I have to get up at 4 am to finish the prep. Lol fun times! Sorry I don't have any advice, but wanted to let you know that you are not alone!!

Good luck!!!

Make sure it's in the fridge. Pour the first glass and set the timer for 10 minutes. Timer goes off...drink the first glass and use a straw. Don't fill your mouth up with the liquid. Hold your nose if you have to.
Pour next glass and set the timer for 10 minutes....repeat for the next several hours.
The reason the pouring first is so the absolute chill is off the liquid. Ice cold isn't easier (for me).

I'll only use those preps....

Let us know how it's going.

Trying to follow a schedule is a sure road to uncontrollable nausea for me. I start a couple of hours early. If a 15-minute drink takes an hour I do not care, as long as the doctor is happy with the result.
