Hello everyone,
I have been tapering of prednisone and currently on 10mg. I started uceris 9mg on tuesday. Since friday morning ive had a fast heartbeat between 110-145. Its never been this high. Has anyone experienced this?

When I was first diagnosed and in my worst flare that happened to me. But I wasn’t on steroids then. It could be the steroids but it could also be your flare. If after all this time you’re not improving I really think you need to talk to a dr about upping your meds. UC affected my whole system and even played havoc with my sugar and pancreatic levels. When they first admitted me to the hospital they were treating me for pancreatitis because my enzymes were 6 times normal.

How are your symptoms now?

I currently have 5-6bm after using the uceris foam prednisone did not do anything for me. I just started uceris oral as well to try as it worked well in the past for me. I want to try reaching remission and continue my ayurvedic medicines after thats my ultimate goal.

Prednisone can cause fast heart rate, so can dehydration.

Hey guys, i’m having a similar situation here and starting to worry. Been more than 24 hours with heart rate of 100-125 bpm - i’m on budesonide and 10 mg Pred (tapering down as we speak from 40mg couple weeks ago.
I started budesonide to replace prednisone.
Any-who, what do i do about the high heart rate? Idk if my BP is high i have not measured that but i get these crippling headaches and i believe they’re due to high bp/pulse rate. What can i eat or take to lower this?

Hey Guys. I too get fast heart rate, high blood pressure, elevated sugar and elevated white blood cell count when taking prednisone. When I'm not flaring, I'm fairly healthy, exercising etc.. so this was concerning to me too.

I'm not sure if its for everyone, but I got my medical marijuana card where I live, and I drink a couple drops of THC oil and it seems to lower my heart rate and make me less manic from the prednisone. I was a pot head as a teenager but I haven't (And still don't) smoked marijuana in 15-20 years. This is different for me.. It allows me to relax a little without being stoned. Enough to manage my day and not be crazy from the prednisone.
