Hello J pouchers,
My daughter was diagnosed with UC when she was 10. After trying all medications, the doctors have decided to perform colectomy. Her take down surgery was 6 months ago. She was doing excellent in the last six months, but last week she started to see blood in her stool. The blood is present post wiping as light pink with small amounts. Her 1calprotectin came in 242, which is elevated. She is not feeling pain or having diarrheas, but her stool is a little bit less thick. Have you experienced the same thing? Her doctor has prescribed antibiotics, which she will start taking today. I am scared that she might have Crohn's disease. Please respond if you had a similar experience.
