Hello all,

Here's an update on today's telephone appointment regarding the diarrhea /melatonin connection. The professor of medicine at the Digestive Diseases clinic at our local university hospital told me that melatonin was likely the cause.
I had a quiet, uneventful morning with no rushing to the bathroom. What a relief!! Back to normal!!

The doctor will call me in one month to monitor the situation.
I hope you're all improving. It will get better.....

Kind regards,
Caryopteris.

Glad that you found out the culprit. There is a thread in the IBS forum titled Melatonin & diarrhea with many comments.

Take care.

Hi, are you saying that e.g. taking Melatonin pills will help with diarrhea? Speaking of Diarrhea - please I need some opinions. My first bm in the morning is just cloudy water, urgency yes, then after that I get decently formed stools. What's up with the watery cloudy diarrhea only in the morning? What does that mean?
I still get the urgency before every bm - so I can guess my last part of the colon is still in trouble
