I have a friend with mild UC on the left side. She’s been on Humira, Entyvio, Remicade and now Xelanz. She was doing great the first few weeks on Xelanz but is now having flare symptoms again. She’s been on Xelanz for about a month at the higher dose. She probably still had Remicade in her system when she started Xelanz so not sure if the combo is what was helping. I feel so bad for her as she can’t use Rowasa or Canasa (they make her worse). She has been using Cortifoam but it’s not working. What’s your Xelanz experience been like? It’d be a shame to have surgery for mild disease.

Countess, I have no experience with Xeljanz, however, we do have a few members here that are doing well. You can scroll through some of the pages to see posts. i think your friend needs to give it a little more time. What kind of symptoms is she having?

I'm not sure why she says her disease is mild, I've never heard of anyone with mild disease being put on the top tier meds. Perhaps she started out mild & the disease progressed to moderate.

Sorry I'm not much help.

She can’t tolerate the Mesalamines . She responded to Humira for a several months but then it stopped working for her. She then tried Entyvio and Remicade with 6mp. Her scopes are basically mild and maybe moderate but not severe. She gets cramping and bloody mucus. I don’t know, I guess some people don’t respond well to the meds even though disease is not severe.
