Hi, i am on stelara and using suppository since September (pentasa and entocort) , my symptons did not get bettter, no blood, i have mucus, pain and burning sensation in my rectum all the time, I do not know what to do. Any tips what should i try to get better? thanks

Stelara every 8 weeks, suppository 2xdaily

Krica, how often are you going to the bathroom and are stools formed? If you have formed stools with no blood, just mucus, it's possible that the entocort is not effective enough or the burning pain is a reaction from the medication if you are in remission otherwise.

Have you tried mesalamine enemas instead of the steroid enemas? They are generally more effective for rectal inflammation.

Is it anus or rectum...some describe anal as rectal.

Hi Jane, my disease is active, I did colonoscopy on 2nd December 2020, ulceration in the rectum, i go to the toilet over 7 times a day, loose stools, diarrhea. It seems the medication is not working for me, pain and burning my rectum , it has been difficult to cope, My Chron’s flare up after i had pancreatitis in April due ERPC endoscopy procedure. I do not know what to do.

Taking Stelara since September, pentasa1g 2x daily (mesalimine) and entocort 2x daily
