I went and read through all of the previous threads on L-threonine (pasted below). It is clear from the thread that many people found L-threonine was very helpful to them. I am curious to know - are people still taking it? Do you have any updates on whether or not L-threonine continues to work over a longer period of time? Do you continue to see improvements and are they backed up by scopes that show true healing? In the below threads, a couple of people said they took 2 grams at night before sleeping. Has anyone tried increasing the dosage?

Both of these amino acids, L-threonine and L-Proline, have been researched to help produce intestinal mucin which helps strengthen the colonic lining.

As far as I remember there were 4 amino acid for improving mucin lining: threonine, serine, proline and cysteine. I tried the threonine 2 g per night, unfortunately didn't do much.

I may give it a shot again with all 4 amino acids.

Not sure if it's the same thing but I tried L-glutamine for a while (about 6 months). It did nothing for me...

yup those are the exact four I found as well. There are several studies on it and they all seem to indicate that those are the four amino acids for strengthening the mucin lining and it is the mucin lining that is hit very hard in ulcerative colitis. The thing that I don't know is should people take all 4 at the same time? I know that some amino acids compete with each other for absorption but I can't find online which compete with each other.

I will try taking them in the ratio they used in the paper that identified them with Threonine at 2 g.

Sounds good please update on us with your results and findings when taking all four. Have you had success with any one of them in the past?
