Hi all

I have finally got a couple of weeks worth of predsol enemas which seem to be helping my flare up. I was only diagnosed a month or so ago and even after seeing my GI I feel like I don’t know what to do now.

What can I expect after the meds end? Will the flare end?

Should I follow a special diet (GI says no) - and if I do this diet do I do it now or after the flare?

So far I can see that fried foods make me sick. Working out what else... If I have no food triggers do I just continue to eat those foods normally?

I am currently on vitamin b, calcium, slippery elm and tumeric. Anything else worth my while?

Any advice welcome.

Vitamin D3 for its anti-inflammatory, immune system-supporting properties, but don't go higher than 1,000 IU (25 mcg)/daily unless you have a doctor's recommendation. For diet issues see our advice in your earlier thread. The doctor who gave you Predsol should be advising you on necessary follow-up! When you have any form of IBD, whether its UP, UC, or Crohn's, you need to establish a continuing care relation to a physician who follows your case. We told you that in your earlier thread. If you don't feel comfortable consulting your present doctor, then you should try to locate another who is better at communicating the on-going treatment advice you need. / Old Hat (40 yrs with left-sided UC)
