Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is doing ok and keeping safe.

I have been doing well since my pan-colitis flare which put me in hospital over Christmas! I am currently on 30mg pred (tapering) & had my 2nd infliximab infusion two days ago.

The past two days my stools have been a bit odd. The first BM comes out lovely and formed but when I have a 2nd BM its really mushy and today almost seemed verging on diarrhoea. Of course I’m worried about this however there is no blood, pain or urgency.

Is this something to be worried about or just the norm as we heal.

Wondering if it’s something I ate but can’t seem to pinpoint anything!

Thanks In advance;

m xx

I’m on entyvio rather than remicade but my experience with heading into remission is that progress is slight in the beginning but any improvements no matter how small should be viewed as a positive. So I’d say that seeing a formed stool after only 2 doses is a great sign that you are responding. On entyvio I was pretty much symptom free after 4 months but a colonoscopy did show active disease still. The next scope was clear tho. So expect a lessening of symptoms but be aware that the colon itself will take time to heal.

Think positive and try to dwell on any positive changes and not the backslides. You will have good days and bad days yet. I used mesalamine suppositories and uceris foam to tide me over on those days — and still do occasionally! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
