I have a scope coming up this week and have been given SuTab, a new FDA approved scope prep. It is the pill version of the nasty SuPrep. Was wondering if anyone has experience using this new med. Was just approved in Nov. It lists nausea and vomiting as the most common side effects. Thanks.

Pill version! Oh, music to my eyeballs! Please report back on your experience with it.

I don't have experience with it but am glad to see a thread has been started. My doctor told me Sutab would be coming out. Good luck and please do update us.

I wanted to post my experience with SuTab so far. I'm having my 8th (I think - have to check with Dr.) colonoscopy today. For the first one 20 years ago I had pills that I think were taken off the market due to kidney damage. Every scope after that was with a vile solution - I've had every single type. The nausea for me was always prevalent. I have thrown up (usually without warning) with every single solution and it's always been miserable, and the last 4 or 5 scopes I've been unable to complete the 2nd half. I've had to rely on multiple enemas and magnesium citrate before my scope every time. THIS TIME I was given SuTab and I was soooooooo relieved. I had less anxiety going in. You guys, I've never had such a good experience. No nausea, no cramping, no side effects whatsoever. Prep started last night, went a few times during the evening, nothing explosive. Slept through the night. 2nd prep this morning, went a few times, am cleaned out, scope is in 3 hours. All I feel is hungry. This is amazing. πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

That's good to hear. I'd be weary of it myself because my old GI told me SuPrep was the one most likely to cause nausea and vomiting, so I've always acoided it. I've always done well with GoLytely.

I’ve never had nausea with preps thank god. It’s more just being so full I absolutely cannot put any more liquid in me. But the worst is the constant pooping for hours. And the wiping that entails. My GI did a colonoscopy on my hubby not too long ago and gave him the su-tabs (he has no issues with any of the preps) so am expecting that with my next one. Hope it goes as well as yours! Thanks for the update. Always good to hear about prep experiences and new drugs.
