I had my gallbladder out and I am glad I did. Prior to the surgery I couldn't get through a meal without feeling nausea. It completely disappeared after I had my gallbladder out. I don't know the level at which my gallbladder was functioning, but I never had a proper gallbladder attack.. I had it out based on my symptoms and ultrasound results which only showed one stone, but surgeon said afterward that is was very sick and full of sand. It did not, alas, cure my acid reflux or bloating which I believe have other causes.
I had the Da Vinci Robotic procedure about five years ago.. It consisted of one very small incision over my navel. It healed very quickly. The scar is practically invisible though my navel is a different shape and the whole thing was so undramatic that this past fall while preparing for abdominal scan I was asked if I ever had abdominal surgery before and I said no, because I had forgotten I ever had the surgery.
