Curious if anyone’s doctor is suggesting you get the vaccine ASAP due to having UC and/or meds you are on?

My gastroenterologist said essentially "I don't think you are at much greater risk of COVID, but if you need a letter to get priority, I'll write one." I Currently have "mild" UC, on biologics.

But in California, there is no priority for medical conditions. It's age (>65 right now), living condition (e.g., nursing home) and occupation (medical worker, teacher, et cetera) that get priority. Since I don't fall into any of those, it's a moot point right now.

Same here. We are not prioritizing health conditions until 1C. I am only receiving one because I am a teacher.

UC is not particularly a risk factor for covid. Certain medications might be. I'm in Europe and have to wait until over 60s are done before immunocompromised patients under 60 (which i am) will be next in line. I don't expect anything for at least a few months.

Nope! Here in NY state the categories start with essential workers & nursing homes (staff + residents) then seniors age 65+. The health conditions known to make COVID-19 more severe are obesity, high blood pressure, heart or lung disease, and diabetes. (Conditions more likely prevalent among seniors.) / Old Hat

So amazing countess! Which state? Also noticed you had c-diff. I had it in 2019. I wonder how common it is for those of us with IBD. Took me forever to get rid of it thanks to mis-diagnoses from my GI
