Hi everyone,

I’ve posted before about this... I’m having a total nightmare with rectal pain/symptoms which just don’t seem to be budging. I had my baby daughter by elective c section 13 weeks ago and for the past 11/12 weeks I’ve been experiencing pain when passing a bm that feels sharp and like glass cutting me and then afterwards it will throb and hurt to sit down etc. It’s driving me insane. My ibd nurse and doctor say it’s a fissure or hemorrhoid but no one has actually examined me and I’ve got a whole bunch of otc treatments for these but nothing seems to be working.
Does anyone have any ideas?

See if you can get some steroid suppositories (prescription). I use them for hemmis. Works for me in a couple days

Thanks! I have some steroid enemas... maybe I could use those? Unfortunately both my dr and ibd nurse are being useless

No kidding...totally useless! If they say fissure or hemmie...then prescribing medication to HELP said fissure or hemmie is a must.

You could call and request suppositories and ointment. If you can get proctocedyl (proctol generic) prescribed, it's a good med.

Hope you start to get relief soon.

Thanks q. Yep it’s driving me insane how rubbish they’re being. Think it’s due to COVID. Just telling me to buy meds from chemist but I don’t even know exactly what the problem is

What all have you used exactly?

You could change this title to ask for hemorrhoid and fissure treatment suggestions. It will garner you more experience and info.

I’ve tried anusol cream (not sure if you have that in us) and also diltiazem cream. Also just got lidocaine gel.

You've tried a good variety of meds...

What if you called your GP, request to see/talk to him/her and beg to be prescribed something since your GI isn't responding to help heal your poor butt. Lay it on thick!

Let me know what happens.
