Hi everyone!

I am doing ok atm. Usually 3 bm in the morning, which seems to be normal for me. Formed, no blood or mucus.
However some pieces are really compacted and hard to pass and would fit “constipation’ on Bristol scale. But the rest of the stool is normal.

I take 2.4 gr Acacol plus some supplements like l-glutamine, prebiotic (inullin) and probiotic (Visbiome).

At the last visit my GI said that blood and mucus = inflammation, everything else might be related but separate issue.
I am afraid to take stool softeners or try laxatives. I tried few prunes and dates in the evening as well as kefir but not much result.
I normally eat fiber food, legumes and resistant starches.

Anybody had similar situation? Appreciate your suggestions.

Are 3 bms a norm for you or have they increased to 3?

I haven't bled in eons with a flare, so no...lack of bleeding isn't a determiner of not flaring.

Thank you, Quincy.

My 3 bms is not an increase, never had less of them.
Yesterday I increased my water intake and more prunes and saw improvement this morning. Will stick to this for now and observe what happens.

Also I have Metamucil from times when my stools were loose and I needed to bulk them up.
Is it a good idea to try Metamucil now as I hear that people use it for constipation too But I am not sure.
What do you think?

Thanks

I take metamucil capsules daily...6 with breakfast and 6 with supper...so I'm a huge YES on using it. As well probiotics at bedtime.
