I've heard other people say they get mouth ulcers, but really, it shouldn't be related to uc since uc is limited to the colon and rectum. Maybe it's related to your overall well being and the fact that you're physically weakened. Crohn's can cause mouth ulcers but I don't think them alone are reason to think it's crohn's. Many people suffer with a mouth ulcer here and there...

Some get mouth ulcers or canker sores as extraintestinal symptoms while flaring. I suggest you get them checked, swabbed and cultured, to make sure it's not something else going on.
As well...blood testing for other causes of mouth ulcers if you get them regularly.

Are they always in the same place?

I used to suffer from very painful canker sores inside my mouth. Usually if I bit my lip or inside of my cheek a canker sore would develop that would get bigger and bigger until it gave me headaches and an overall fatigue. They would last for about a week. Now that I’m on entyvio I never get them anymore. If I bite myself one will start but it never gets painful or grows bigger and goes away in a day.

So I’m inclined to say that somehow the mouth ulcers and UC might be somehow related. The mouth also has a mucus membrane or component doesn’t it? And even though entyvio is supposed to be gut specific I can’t help but feel that it is what is contributing to the quick healing of my mouth ulcers/canker sores.

I did have canker sore long before I had UC though and I don’t recall now if I had more when I was flaring.

I get them both while flaring and while in remission. Apparently they are part of the UC package sad

Yes, mouth ulcers are an extra-intestinal manifestation of IBD. They're more common with crohn's but documented as occurring in UC as well.

i always get them whenever im flaring or little bit under stress of work. so its a uc/ibd thing i think and it takes them two weeks to go. this is giving me hard time more than uc flaring
