She is currently having about 12-14bm/ per day with blood on and off and stomach pain. She has absolutely no energy and her inflammation is very high. Her albumin is 1.3 (critically low).. She does eat and we are trying to give her as much protein as we can. I really appreciate all the help. I know you guys understand her pain the most. You all are truly warriors.
I really hope to find something for her. If anyone has any idea about anything natural please keep me in mind. Thank you
For protein could you also try supplementing a drink of collagen peptide powder and see if that helps? Not exactly natural but the combination of amino acids could help correct her albumin gradually and help somewhat with the inflammation too. It might be easier to digest , less aggravating too. Start with 5gms and work to 15gm gradually if she tolerates it well. Keep giving her bone broth and even cow feet soup (which is very healing and gelatinous) but avoid eggs, as they are inflammatory. Try celery juice too and see how she tolerates it. Green plaintain powder with just water and honey as a porridge is very healing too.
I am not sure if natural remedies will be strong enough to help her based on her current condition. But if she is
open to trying ayurveda again I could refer her to mine. Consultations are by phone/video (not really the ideal way but good enough in covid times. Typically ayurvedic consultations should always be done in person because they tend to rely on visual diagnosis, pulse things like that) and in severe cases inpatient treatment is preferred but the doc decides that after discussing the patient's history . Do bear in mind though that ayurveda does not work for everyone.
Other things that come to mind are Hypnotherapy or guided imagery.
Maybe also research things like manuka honey, slippery elm aloe vera, virgin coconut oil, black seed oil to see if they can support her inflammation in anyway.
Always introduce things one at a time if you are trying anything and preferably work with someone into functional medicine who can atleast work out the right dosage for her. There is a balance that needs to be achieved in the body and just randomly picking up internet remedies won't necessarily be helpful, especially when one's situation is critical.
Try to get her iron levels tested too and if necessary perhaps opt for IV iron if she has turned anemic since that picks up energy levels much faster than tablets which are not helpful when one is already inflammed. Also because of possible dehydration and electrolyte imbalance advisable to increase fluid intake with lots of warm water through the day.
Please encourage her to set herself a timeline to see improvement. Maybe a week, maybe two but no longer than a month and if nothing is changing and things are getting worse - there really is no point to this ongoing exploration at the cost of one's health but to change gears to standard meds for now. It would be the sensible thing to do. Especially if there is a chance it will improve her quality of life. Sometimes the best thing to do is to surrender to the universe and let it decide the course of your journey. It is not possible for one to always be in control of things and it sounds like she has put up a good fight so far.
