Hello, is anyone on mesalamine? If so, I am wondering if it is ok to take it prior to receiving the COVID vaccine. I know it is not recommended one take tylenol or advil (anti-inflammatories) before hand, as it might interfere with one's immune response. Mesalamine is an anti-inflammatory as well, so I just wondered...

Mesalamine acts locally on the lining of the colon. Unlikely to influence a systemic immune response.

Try to stick to your usual dosing and keep adequate water supply with you all day-- because doctors say that EVERYONE should be sure to stay well-hydrated when receiving the COVID vaccines. (Mesalamine can dry us out so we have to be extra careful to drink water whenever that feeling crops up.) / Old Hat
