Hugs...wishing all goes well with your surgery. Let us know how it goes.

Is the redo surgery because of the ischemia?

Yes because of the ischemia. My gi basically abandoned me. He also said I don't need surgery and denies I'm in pain. I stopped eating

I'll fly to NY

Dear Andreita
I'll be thinking of you and wishing you a most successful surgery. Sounds like you'll be in good hands if you're flying to NY.

I am happy you're doing something to improve your situation. I really hope you get a result that makes you more comfortable and happy. Is the surgeon very experienced with redos? I thought you were going to say you were going to Cleveland clinic.

Dr. Remzi has a great reputation. I am a patient at NYU Langone and have had great care from the IBD center. (Dr. Bosworth is my GI). Wishing you all the best.

I am so happy you are getting this fixed. You suffered way too long with that pouch.

How long do you have to wait between surgeries?

So, color me curious -- and absentminded. You've probably already said, but what was the new surgeon's opinion on what needed to be done and what was wrong?

Thank you for your question. My rectum is too long. It caused an obstruction which caused my intestine to swell. My stoma was incredibly big when he first pulled it, bigger than my first two stomas. He will shorten my rectum and says my jpouch is otherwise viable.
