My IBD subspecialist gastro got my COVID vaccine (Pfizer) antibodies test done last week at urban medical center. I'm not immunosuppressed, but we were curious about my level at nearly 5 months out from 2nd injection, considering all the hype now RE 3rd booster shot for seniors & some others becoming available. My result to COVID spike proteins registered POSITIVE and quantified as 1,284 Units per m/L. The comments posted under this figure contain a caveat about still-existing uncertainty surrounding the individual's specimen measurement + relation to degree of protection from COVID infection. *** Not surprised, but satisfied that gastro listened calmly to my description of my body's reaction 6 hrs after Pfizer #2, which involved some discomfort to salivary glands, tongue, & lower torso locations. (Luckily all gone after 3 more hours passed.) *** Still stay masked indoors/on mass transit per our city & state health dept. requirements, which is not a big deal for the most part in Northeast USA. *** Wishing good news to all forum members; stay safe! / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)
You don't take immunosuppressants, do you? And do you qualify for the 3rd dose? Will you have another test done to check your levels if you get a booster? If you're out in public and indoors without a mask in the Northeast then you'll usually get at least a dirty look, especially with the weather starting to get colder.
