Does it matter if you don’t lay down for 15 minutes. I’m wondering if this is playing a role in my flare

you mean as in not helping your flare ?

retaining the enema is the goal - whether that means bungee jumping or knitting, it doesn't matter - but most folks find the best retention lying down - i always did them in bed just before going to sleep - easy peasy -

Are you talking during the day or night?

I always lay still for at least 30 minutes in order for the medicine to travel as far up my colon as possible and then absorb.

I think 30 minutes is the gold standard. I’m like TT, I use them in bed so no reason to get up and move around.
