Hello UC friends, I use Salofalk enemas for my left sided mild uc. But for years I see kind of blackish stuff in the morning when i go to the toilet. I heard it has something to do with the enema's turning in another colour during the night in the colon. The MDL nurse says the samen. Has anyone experience with this?
thanks and x

Are you bleeding during this flare? If so, it could be a mix of enema and stool and blood. Curious what you're eating as of late?
I've only had it happen if I've eaten blueberries or blackberries or when flaring when I was bleeding as well.
The enema itself does not change colour in the colon.

Enema residue turns black when exposed to bleach, a common toilet cleaner. Generally I pass the enema fluid as white or tan in my poop.
