Hey all…been away from the forum and in remission since 2016 and well, as of a few weeks ago, that has changed. So., after bloodwork and stool sample testing last week (results aren’t in yet on that one) the GI doctor asked me to start on 12 day Anucort HC suppository and just today, Uceris 9mg for the next two months. Until recently, I was taking supplements and turmeric for the inflammation and doing just fine. Wanted to stick with a holistic approach since the traditional meds (Imuran, Colazal) put me in the hospital. My CRP results (part of the blood work) was very very high, should be around 10 so I understand but was 119. EEEK!
Anyway, been working from home like a lot of you for over a year on top of it, dealing with a lot stress in my life and think that is what triggered it. My diet now is just watching the fiber, soft foods, bananas, rice, pasta, no caffeine, etc. Trying to stay active and walk as well plus add a little bit of weight resistant workouts for my arms. I have a doctors appt. next Monday to go over my current condition and yes, I bet another colonoscopy is in my near future even though I had one just two years ago. OH, YAY! GAH! Luckily, no urgency but of course the gas and tenderness, lower back soreness and the dreaded blood but that seemed to lessen now that I am on day 4 of the Anucort suppositories. Yesterday, felt pretty darn good, with little tenderness and still no urgency.
*What are some hacks to get you through the times on the throne with those dreaded spasms (try deep breathing for a few seconds and not sure if it is helping but I do it). What about the tenderness and sore lower back? I do take acetaminophen (not often) for the lower back soreness. Some times I take a hot bath.
Well, this wasn’t meant to be so wordy but you all are an extended family in a sense. LOL. TIA.
