I have been having increasing symptoms since my last sigmoid in January 2021, which found no active disease. Since roughly March, I have been having more bleeding, mucus in stool, and unexplained abdominal cramping, which seems to get worse when I engage in core exercises. Stool is formed, no urgency and frequency is still 1 x per day. I have a telemed appt, tomorrow with my GI who I expect may want to do another exam. This would be my third within a year. Had one last August, one in January (to see if meds were workin) and likely one in the next week or two. In a message he suggested that we take a look. Is it customary to get a sigmoid or full colonoscopy every time there is a change? Are there any risks to getting several within one year? Currently taking oral and rectal mesalamine. Thanks.
