For all of those that are worried about the vaccine,
One of the World’s premiere medical journals (The New England Journal of Medicine) just published a study with over 850,000 vaccinated patients that studied the risks of the Pfizer vaccine.
Thanks for sharing this study. As someone who is taking a wait-and-see approach before I get vaccinated, I appreciate constructive posts like this.
I've been observing some of the COVID-related exchanges here on HW and I think it's a shame that the majority of posts exhibiting any hint of vaccine hesitancy end up locked. While I don't pretend to know everyone's motives, I do know that some of us (myself included) are not trying to push a "misinformation" agenda or shake others' confidence in the vaccine -- we genuinely want to connect with others who may also be undecided. But sadly, because the conversation always spirals down a rabbit hole, we can't even find camaraderie on a Crohn's/UC forum -- the one place where WE ALL (should) know what it's like to feel unseen, unheard, and alone!
If you don't agree with those of us who may have concerns, that's 100% OK. You don't have to. And similarly, you don't have to respond to our thread. Or if you'd like to respond, please do so in a useful way like sharing peer-reviewed studies. Share it, but then give others the respect of coming to their own decision in their own time. You can't decide for someone whether the benefits outweigh the risks (no matter how seemingly insignificant those risks might seem to you).
One other thing - please don't assume that if someone is unvaxxed they're automatically contributing to the problem. I'm still social distancing like I was in early 2020: I work from home, I do online orders and grocery pickups, my social life is non-existent, and on the off-chance that I do have to run an in-person errand, I wear an N95. In many ways, I'm doing more to mitigate spread than most who are vaccinated and have returned to a semi-social lifestyle.
We would all do well to give one another a little more grace. perfectly said. Thankyou
