4 days on 100mg hydrocortisone tapered to 50 prednisone today. Can I stop now. I can’t do it.
My legs are swelling I’m getting muscle tightness and my anxiety is through the roof

I know of friends who were on 60mg for 5 days and then stopped as per prescription.

If you can't do it then stop now rather than later.
Discuss it with your doctor asap.

That's a lot. I'd be super anxious, too. When do you get to drop down to 40?

You always have a choice. It is always your choice!

I hate Prednisone but it's a necessary evil sometimes.

Before you choose going off of Prednisone just think about the long term and what could happen. Your flare could get worse and you could end up in the hospital or even surgery.

Come up with a plan before you go off of Prednisone. What are your alternatives? Entocort (less systemic and side effects) or a biological? Are you on an immunosuppressant? You might be able to go on a higher dose.

I agree with Keith. You always have a choice but you Gotta have a Plan B just in case. With Prednisone you can't just quit, you have to do it safely. If you feel really uncomfortable speak with your doctor. Disclaimer here...some doctors will "fire" you if you are not completely compliant with their orders. It has not happened to me but it did happen to one of the ladies in my ostomy support group. I was shocked and surprised. I didn't know that could happen.

I was on 80 mg for a month. It was rough. Tapering down took me 6 months. It was hard to taper down.
I cleaned like I have never cleaned before or since. Driving was a hazard for me....road rage. I had to have alone time too... I was a mess. But it took me out of a flare so it worked.

I think firing a patient is perfectly acceptable. If you and your doctor are not on the same page then it's probably best for the doctor to move you to a different doctor. In some relationships the doctor does have this weird power dynamic over the patient so I think it is good if the GI sometimes initiates the parting of ways because I've seen too many people on here stay with the same GI for years and suffer.

I also think if you can justify your position with facts and good reasons then the GI should probably go with your choice.

I always had good conversations with my GI, we go back and forth and make a decision together but it has always been my decision and he is supportive. I trust him and he trusts me.

My GI is deciding on the next plan. He’s mentioned immunosuppressants

Thankyou so much for this. This is exactly me. I’m cleaning like crazy! I’m raging at my family. I’m so wound up. I’m already a highly anxious person so I’m struggling. I’m trying to be mindful of how I am so I don’t affect others but it’s so hard when I need support

I remember cleaning all of my kitchen cabinets at 4 am the last time I was on Prednisone
