So my third dose of Inflectra is coming up next Monday. After that my loading dose phase will be done. I do feel like I’ve had pretty good results so far even though have had a couple blips.
For those of you on Inflectra or Remicade, how did you feel after the loading dose phase was over? If you had good results were you able to maintain until the 8 week maintenance dose? It seems like such a long time between doses to me.
Would love to hear your experiences!

I was in pretty bad shape when I started Remicade, but I saw definite improvement after the loading doses (actually saw improvement almost right away), but I had lingering symptoms for a long time and we kept adjusting the dose and frequency (see my signature). I finally feel like I am in a good place but it took much longer for me than it does most people. Even with the lingering symptoms I was sooooo much better than when I started I could have lived with it like that. I am older and had already failed 2 other biologics so I didn't give up on it.

I think most people do just fine on an 8 week schedule, but keep in mind that dosing and frequency can be adjusted if you need to.

Haven’t been on remicade but entyvio dosing schedule is the same. The 1st 8-week stretch is not awful but you might experience a few mild symptoms. I don’t remember blood but more mild cramping. If you have rectals you can use that helps a lot!

Good luck!!!!

I too was in pretty bad shape when I started Remicade. I could tell a little difference at the end of the loading doses, however, by 6 months I could tell it was working. As long as you can tell it's working that's all that matters, we all react differently.

Take care.

Final loading dose coming up tomorrow! I’m feeling so nervous. I hate feeling this way every time especially since both prior infusions have gone so well. Ughh

You will do fine. Don't let your mind wonder & get all worked up, it's too dang stressful. Find something to do today to occupy your time so you won't be thinking about it.

Sending you good vibes!

This definitely my problem. My mind wanders and thinks of all the what ifs that could go wrong. Thanks for the suggestion, I’m gonna try to keep my mind occupied today!

Every time you find yourself thinking a scary/nervous thought immediately remind yourself that’s it’s just a thought and not the reality and then try to imagine a positive (remission! And all you can do when you feel good!) instead. I know it’s really hard— and I don’t always succeed at it either but the more you try the easier it is.

Anyway … I’ve been in your shoes so understand your fears.

Thanks for the encouraging words. It did help to find something to keep busy with yesterday. My infusion is in a couple of hours and I’m very nervous but trying to work through it. I get so nervous about having a bad reaction even though deep down I know lots of people take this medication with no issues.

All done and it went fine, very uneventful. I hope I’ll be less nervous next time

Well it’s been a week since my third dose and I feel SO good. I’m really hoping that it will last.

Yay! That’s a very good sign it’s going to work for you. Don’t be discouraged if you have some days of going downhill a little — that’s very common in early treatment stages, especially the first long 8 week interval. Hit any symptoms with any rectals you have on hand for a few days and remember you’re in for the long haul — the road to remission is not smooth and even but can have a few bumps along the way. Keep us updated!

Yeah I’m hoping I make it with minimal symptoms if any during the 8 week wait.
Unfortunately rectals don’t work at all for me unless it’s a steroid enema.
Fingers crossed it all goes well
