I met with a LDN doctor, she said back in the day when I was taking it about 10years ago ,they prescribed 4.5mg across the board for most people with IBD in capsule form. This doctor said it should be by weight. I’m giving it a go again starting at 1mg then up to 2mg and if I need more 3mg at most. They are caplets that I can break in half. She sounded hopeful. I’ll keep you posted. It’s being shipped now to me.

Hello,
I am on Day 5 and switched from taking it from night to morning.
I’m only taking 1.5mg and I had amazing energy yesterday and no pain in my body. I was on my feet all day yesterday and my feet didn’t hurt. I really felt the good.
I did have an “accident” but my mood was good about it. I’m noticing too, happier self.
I think the cranaction, cranberry for uti is giving me fits. I’m going to stopped that today.
My LDN doc also started me on bovine colostrum that also has two amino acids in it , one being L-lysin which is for wound healing .
I will see if it was cranaction giving my cramps and diarrhea or the colostrum. It will take a day or two to figure out.
I will keep you updated.

Good solid month in on LDN,
it definitely helps with pain! I take it with my asacol and rectal meds. However the Bleeding is still there.
I am hopeful it will continue to get better.

Thank you for your update. I have been told that it can take upwards to a few months before substantive results are found with LDN. Glad that it seems to be moving things in the right direction for you.

Are you increasing the dosage?
Good to hear you're doing better!

I am not increasing as I’m coming across some issues with my stomach and LDN.
when I try to increase I get stomach pain every morning! Feels tender to touch.
I called the pharmacist and he said this can happened since the medication effects the dopamine receptors in the stomach?

Hi I take at night and it’s not the stomach ,
it’s effecting my gallbladder I figured out.
My gallbladder functions at 15% they said it’s up to me to have it out or not the doctor said. They are switching me to transdermal cream LDN.

Heather have you had your GAllbaldder out?
I had Lymes and been on that forum here and people who have lost a lot of their function of the gallbladder , was caused by Lymes. It’s common I guess.
I’m
On the fence about getting it out.

Gallbladder is intact...no issues except one attack 30ish years ago.
I would get it out asap if it was an aspect of grief.
The same would be for my colon.

I take LDN and it gets me into sustained remission, but only after my flare is 80% better.

I have never heard of it being dosed by weight. You dose it based on effects. 4.5mg is way too much for me, it prevents me from sleeping at night. My sweet spot is 3mg, after a lot of experimenting. Some people take the full 4.5mg, others take less. You have to adjust according to comfort level, but 4.5mg is the max.

Good luck, it's a worthwhile treatment. All my doctors endorse it now, but they didn't about 5 years ago. Times have changed.
