So I am completely off budesonide now after I’ve had my loading doses of Inflectra. I stopped budesonide on Thursday. It was a slow taper at the request of my GI but I am off now with my UC still doing very well.
I think I may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the steroid though? Is that possible with budesonide? Since stopping I’ve had some nausea and very very tired. I have been on some form of steroid since March, hydrocortisone enemas March-July and then budesonide since July. Anyone else experienced this? Does it take long for symptoms to stop?

There's some systematic absorption of budesonide, so maybe?

I’m feeling much better now. But was feeling pretty crummy for a few days after I stopped it.

Unlikely. I was on it over a year and never had withdrawal but I guess anything's possible. Glad you're better.

Could be the cortisone enemas with the transition to Entocort. I always feel crummy after discontinuing steroids.

How are your symptoms since you started Inflectra? Did they improve enough to actually stop budesonide?

Keith, I am back on budesonide now. I’m having blood and cramping again.

I missed the enema part. I don't have much experience with steroid enemas. They worked for me once, then the second time either made me worse or did nothing and the flare got worse.

Hope you feel better soon, OP.
