If you had inflammation in the sigmoid and left sided colon only with the rectum clear is there a particular presentation of daily BMs you would then expect. Perhaps no urgency, normal frequency as the Rectum can store stool but loose stool as it is then passed through the left side quite quickly.

Any thoughts on this theory ? (I’m
Aware that this is more a Crohns colitis presentation but leaving that point aside for time being)

Thanks

Yes...not UC. I would expect more loose stool or diarrhea as symptoms.

My UC is left-sided and sigmoid. All biopsies came back as UC (except one remained indeterminate) But no disease in the rectum.

Unlike what seems to be more the norm, my main issues BM wise have been constipation. The doctor said the poop gets backed up in the right side of my colon.

Before diagnosis, I was going to the bathroom 6-8 times a day. Even then, my first 3 or 4 BM’s were formed, just very greasy with some blood.
