Hello All,

I have UC which is under remission since 2009. I take Colozal 3 / 3 times a day and it's the drug that I'm taking all these years.
I'm having a long-standing issue that bothers me especially if I plan to travel outside.
My everyday bowel movements are twice a day in the morning usually at 7:30 and second round around 8:00 AM. One before taking my morning tea and second one after taking it. My problem is when ever I plan to travel or drive outside early in the morning around 5:00 , no matter how much I try my bowel movements will not happen. So I struggle a lot to finish my morning bowel schedule, but it doesn’t work. Once I leave outside and when I’m on the road it starts around my daily schedule and I had to stop near a gas station or find a closest restroom. How can I avoid this situation especially when I have plans to go outside early? Appreciate if you have any suggestions for my problem. It's a strange situation and annoying as well.

Thanks in advance

I think if you eat your dinner earlier the night before it will be ready to come out earlier in the morning

Plus you could get up much earlier and have breakfast to set things in motion.

The same would happen to me, especially if the day before I didn't consume enough varied fibre foods.

My body is pretty much stuck in a routine. The only things that help me are eating earlier the day before and sticking to my routine but at an earlier time. Sometimes it doesn’t work though, and I just have to hope to find a bathroom while I’m out. It is annoying.

Oh yeah.... I found coffee works much better than tea for getting things moving....

Did coffee helped anyone ? I didn’t tried till now. Even waking up earlier and try didn’t worked for me. Did you all think probiotics helps anyway with this ? My challenge is with the clock schedule. I tried to wake up a bit early, but could do only small. Later when the click ticks the urge starts. Any Other laxative alternative other than coffee to bring out everything

Early dinner is probably the most effective. If I have dinner late (e.g. 10pm) I notice i go later the next day.

I’m planning to stop eating dinner or limit to a slice of bread and yogurt earlier around 5:00 PM. Will see if that works.

Hello All,

I just read an article and it says a glass of warm water with a mix of salt and lemon early in the morning will work better than coffee. I will give a try. Thought of sharing sharing so it might workout for someone here as well.

Thanks
