My current insurance (Aetna) and my last insurance (MVP) both exclude Entyvio from their formularies. For people who ARE on entyvio, what insurance company are you with?

You can check with Bluecross BlueShield & CIGNA, but keep in mind each one of these companies offer different tiers, from their low end plans to the high end.

Entyvio wasn't on my drug formulary but I was able to get it because it was billed through the medical portion not the drug portion. That was Blue Cross Blue Shield

Entyvio is usually billed through medical side because of how it’s administered, so it’s not always included in formulary lists (I don’t think — don’t quote me on that.

I’m on Medicare with a supplement (not a Medicare Advantage plan — have no idea how that works) No issues with my costs or authorizations. It does run through the medical side of Medicare and not through the prescription part D program.

Entyvio probably has a copay plan of some type that you can check into. I know their commercials say something about help in paying for Entyvio. But I would definitely call your insurance plan and ask about an entyvio infusion in a dr/hospital administered setting and see what the coverage would be.

Entyvio was not on the formulary for Blue Shield of California. But they approved it based on my doctor's appeal.

It wasn't on my previous insurer's either. They required me to try and fail with Humira before they would approve Entyvio.

Im on Aetna and I've been on Entyvio for 4+ years. Not sure if its because I didnt start Entyvio while on Aetna, but Ive never had a problem with them. Usually if an insurer declines a drug, your doctor can write them a letter explaining why you need this drug. Usually big insurers like Aetna make you try several other biologics before they will approve it since Entyvio is newer.
