Have you had success with Align probiotic or any specifically bifidobacterium strain probiotics? Which one do you take and how do you take it (with or without food, etc.)?

I have issues with frequency and urgency in the mornings and trouble digesting complex carbohydrates. Some studies suggest that Bifid can help with this. Align has Bifid longum and some studies seem to suggest that Bifid lactis is better so curious to know what people's experiences are?

I take probiotics daily. A Reuteri pearl in the morning, and before bed I take a florist or and then any high potency probiotic with as many different strains as I can find.

Honestly I’ve never noticed a positive effect, but I’ve also never noticed a negative effect and I don’t spend a fortune on them I figure what the heck. Your mileage may vary. 😀

I only take probiotics if I have to take antibiotics to replenish good bacteria that gets killed off along with the bad. When I was first diagnosed I tried using them because I thought I was supposed to, but never had an effect on my UC so I stopped. There are some people here who do benefit from probiotics so hopefully they will stop by and provide some info.

Are you still on Entyvio? If your sig is current, have you tried rectal meds?

I don't trust Align because it contains titanium dioxide among other ingredients which may be a problem.

I found that Culturelle with LACTOBACILLUS GG probiotic to be very helpful for my UC when there was no extra stuff in it. Then they changed the formula to add junk into the “other ingredients”. Not nearly as effective for me anymore. I now use Lactobacillus Reuteri (NCIMB 30242) which has a modest benefit but not nearly as powerful as Culturelle before they added junk.
OTHER INGREDIENTS(Culturelle):
hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, sucrose, maltodextrin, vegetable magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (color), and silicon dioxide.

BTW maltodextrin is another toxic ingredient to watch for in many pharmaceuticals and supplements. All we need to hear now is that magnesium stearate causes IBD and half the pills in America need to be thrown out.

The food additive maltodextrin, commonly used in some artificial sweeteners, may worsen Crohn's disease by encouraging the growth of E. coli bacteria in the small intestine, a new study suggests.
