I was going to ask a question on 6mp becoming less effective if you gain substantial weight. Amazingly is seems to also have been asked in another post this week! I'll post my question as well......is there a risk that immunosuppressants are less effective with weight gain....and what is the max doze of each that you can take?

Yes, 6mp is dosed based on your weight, usually 1.0 to 1.5 mgs per kilogram of patient body weight for UC. For example, a 70 kilogram patient would get a 6mp daily dose ranging between 70 to 105 mgs a day. Typically, 6mp pills are 50mgs in size, so you'd be dosed at 1.5 or 2 pills each day.

If your body weight has significantly changed, lost or gained, then it's good to verify your doctor has adjusted your medication dosage for 6mp.
