Good morning all. I wish everyone the best. After dealing with UC for 30 years, now I have afib of my heart. sheesh I'm on Entyvio infusions and was doing well until about a month ago. Began having early morning urgency...real urgent..but no blood. Since I also have IBS, I assume that's what it is. I'll call my GI doc Monday, but was wondering if anyone else deals with afib and UC. Just what we all need....more doctor appointments while worrying about the urgency the entire time. sheesh I HATE UC LOL

I have no idea how serious afib is but I was told by my GI once that UC inflammation can ultimately lead to issues with the heart too. How was this diagnosed for you? Heart conditions run in my family and I would like to get tested for it too by if there is a specific test for it. Hope it all sorts out soon.

The proverbial box of chocolates!
I have PVCs and other crap. My cardio doc started me on 120mg Diltiazem, and it's helped immensely. My bp has gone down as well...so a 2 for 1.

What is suggested for you re a-fib?

Yikes! Hope they can treat you without blood thinners. Somehow blood thinners and UC just don't sound like they would play nicely together. Dr Google says there are other drugs for afib so hopefully one is an option for you. The internet can be scary to read up on stuff like this but to give a little perspective on it --- my mother had afib and she lived to be 93 (she was on blood thinners for treatment but she didn't have UC and was not very active).

Seek....afib is when the top of the heart doesn't pump hard enough and can lead to blood clots. Mine was found during a stress test and is being treated with medications. Your doctor can see it on an ekg
CC and Quinc......yup blood thinner and bp drug. The blood thinners are my worry with UC but my doc put me on Xarelto which is 'supposed' to be best for those of us blessed with UC
Thanks all and best to everyone. I've been lurking for a while but try to keep up with all of you. This is about the best place for those of us with UC. Stay safe all and stay vertical

Thanks Geezer now. I will try to ask for an EKG . The stress you did does does that detect any blocked arteries or heart inflammation like myocarditis which some people ended up having after the vaccines? I would like to have a proper look at my heart. All the best to you too.
