Pryor to my flare and ending up on entyvio I planned to have cosmetic surgery. I had saved for years for this. Does being on entyvio reduce my recovery. I thought once I was on entyvio or immunosuppressants I would have to let go of the idea

Entyvio is the least of the immunosuppressants so I don’t think you have any worries there. However, surgery takes a lot out of you physically so I don’t think I’d have a surgery until I was soundly in remission, confirmed by colonoscopy, as microscopic remission can take longer than symptomatic. (My opinion only).

I agree 100% it’s not something I’m considering yet. I’ve seen enough hospitals to last a while yet. My health will come first and I’m far from recovered mentally or physically yet. Thanks flower gal

I just had this conversation last month with my GI. I was off of my Stelara for a few months and I'm planning on some scar revision surgery because of an open surgery from my j-pouch (they couldn't do it laparoscopically due to prednisone at the time). He said that it wasn't that big of a deal for cosmetic surgery and being on Stelara - it just might take a little longer to heal.

You might be able to plan your surgery around your infusion schedule. See how long they estimate that it will take you to heal and then do the surgery at the best time before your next infusion.
