i have been diagnoised with uc, when i was ~23 years old. I received very light therapy as i remember i took pentasa and thats all.
in my first 10 years i was symtoms free. I played competitive soccer, ressistance training , swiming. I had very " moving" life. I was long in outside, on the pitch, in the training etc. So i received lot of sun, and moving.

after 10 years i stoped almost all the sport in my life, i started a new job, and it brought very big stress in my life. i was always front of my computer, i have always worked, no freetime no sport... bad life...my uc symtoms came back. I have gone hospital.

Now my last 5 -6 years i had terrible peeiod if i see only the Uc.
No i am on xeljanz and 4 mg steroid.

I have approx 6 bowel moving per day. But sometimes only 1-2 . It is very interesting. I tried reproducate the condition when i had only 1-2 moving. i could not.

Eventually novadays we built outside a balcony in our garden and i had only 1 bovel moving/ day i had noticed this days was very sunny, and i moved a lot of on this day.
I tried to reproduce these condition another shinny, holidays with lot of moving, hard work, but phisical work.
And i had again only 1 bowel moving.

Maybe is this the solution?

Sunny days, exercise, building nice things, moving around, a garden…may be the solution for you Hambo. I certainly hope so!

I’m in the sun a lot too. I’ve recently began working out again. Taking easy, not trying to be Mr. Atlas at my age. Even keel. Steady as she goes. Clean diet. Lowering stress. Walking. Finding my place.

Now, if I can just get my brother out of my house lol.

My UC is always better in the sunnier weather, when vitamin D levels are higher. But this doesn't work for people who live in sunny places year round and have UC.

maybe my hapiness was to earlie. I totally dont understand this illness.

Yesterday when i have made hard phisical work, and there was sunny day i had only one bowel moving. Its ok.
But today morning i was on toilet and i had diarhea. ( before this my stool was hard, but i had more Bm/day.)

Have you such experience?
i dont know maybe when i am moving my body stop the bowel moving, but uc is here as same as before it, and my uc status is not better only my body maybe block the bowel moving?

For me, being outside is a great stress reliver, even just pottering around the garden doing a bit of weeding.
Also for me stress is a big trigger so while my symptoms improve when I get out and about more I think it has more to do with my stress being lowered than actually being outside.

Being in the sun, you get vitamin d3. Vitamin d3 is very beneficial to our immune systems.

Being outdoors is beneficial for my mood and emotional well-being. I am not the sort who can stay cooped indoors for hours on end.

Being in the sun makes me exhausted and that affects the rest of my body. I have figured a way to not feel so exhausted when I have to be in the sun. 1) Hydrate myself with 2 glass Of water before stepping out in mid morning sun 2) carry an umbrella.

Some Vit D from the sun seems helpful but I can’t be very active in the strong sun .

I live in a sunny place so that kind of goes with what Jordan says. I don’t really know the why’s though. If it is a ‘solution’ for you keep finding a way to do it!

Hello! I have uc and I can’t do any sports at all+ I live in a hot , sunny country and summers are the worst!!! I suffer every summer!!! When the heat goes down in October I start feeling better. 3 days ago I was so bloated and played some ball with family and it made me feel better, I didn’t the same thing again another day and what did I get???? Pain, frequent bowel movement, and blood. Tha t has never happened before. So I think it’s to figure if movement is working or just a coincidence.

Anastasiya...you are undertreated med-wise. I would consider that initially.
