Hello All,

Has anyone tried the natural remedies from evinature. I saw a couple of posts in a facebook IBD group and ordered a bottle to try these ( Curcumin and Qing dai),

I am not connected with this company in any way or promoting these products. Just want to see if anyone used these before and what your experiences are.

Thank you!

Hello q hope you are having a great weekend,

I did a search on the forum regarding the Qing dai after your response and saw some forum members had success and no effects for some others, kind of mixed responses. But I didn't see anyone had a longer positive effect for an extended period from Qing dai.

Evinature founders and scientific advisors created an interest in the products to give a try. 2 out of 3 founders are directly associated with the Integrative Gastroenterology unit at Sheba Medical Center Israel and both the scientific advisors are US-trained MD and RD respectively and both are located in the US.

I am not recommending or suggesting anyone on this forum try these based on my posts. I will keep posting to share my experiences in the next coming few weeks.

Regards,
Jay

My weekend sucks because I have a cold....neg x3 for Covid, but still miserable as they always are for me. Just hoping it's just a week's worth and not more.

Definitely post your results for those who are interested in trying them.

As usual, I suggest the mesalamine enemas over the supps 😁

I haven't tried them, but curcumin and qing dai are basically anti-inflammatories. They suppress the body's ability to inflame tissue as part of the immune response. They work for some but not for others. In my case, those kinds of anti-inflammatories only work if I have a low to mid-grade flare. If my flare is severe, they do nothing.

And they don't target the root cause which is excess hydrogen peroxide being produced in the colon.

q sorry to hear about the cold. Finally the Dr gave me a prescription for enema and said to use as needed, but he still thinks supps are a better option for proctitis and since the inflammation is almost gone.

I will post my results after I receive and use these supplements for at least 2 weeks

Hi VanJordan, how can we target the excess hydrogen peroxide being produced in the colon?

Thank you!

I doubt that diet alone is going to get you far. This is an autoimmune disease. Believe me, my family has had me try all kinds of diets for the last 20 years--they don't work, at least for me. Your best chance of achieving remission is to be under a good specialists' care who can monitor your disease and prescribe the right medication. I know this is hard for many of us to accept. We wish we could control this disease with diet; but we can't.

The mesalamine suppositories and enemas can be very effective and a great start. They hardly have side-effects. If they don't work, you can try biologic medicines. These medicines are very safe. I was on Humira for 5 years and never had a bad side effect from it.

Hope you will get better.

I use curcumin only. It seems to help me. I also have arthritis, psoriasis and other issues. I can tell when I don't take it.

My GI encourages supplements.

Just know that tumeric is a blood thinner. Very important to run your supplements thru your doctor's.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hello Tonito,

Thank you for the response. I am not stopping my meds (Mesalamine from both ends). The supplements, dietary changes etc., are like having a side with your main entree (meds) lol.

Hello clo,

I always look forward to knowing more about your rooster encounters.

Thank you for the response. Now I think there might be a link(not sure though) to my flare and curcumin. I stopped taking curcumin around February of this year. I noticed some symptoms and a mild flare after that.

My intention is to treat UC from both ends with Mesalamine as it is working for the last 6 years. Supplements and dietary changes are incorporated to give an additional layer of protection.
Regards,
Jay

Quincy - when I have a cold, I treat myself with a ginger mixture - I boil some plant milk together with some freshly grated ginger (f.e. a teaspoon) and a tablespoon of honey. After it boils for several minutes, I strain the mixture through a sieve and drink

Ewa...thanks for the suggestion. I'm drinking ginger but not with honey...I'm taking a gambit of stuff... colds for me are always bad with my asthma making a further, uncomfortable complication to the mix. Now my husband has it...not a good combo. I'm exasperated, and extremely ticked.

In all my years, I've learned that natural remedies can be hit or miss, and what works for someone else may not work for you. Everyone has their own individual pathology, so it's hard to predict what one thing will do. I would say listen to your gut and see what works best. If you're doing fine on medications, please continue them, and don't fix what isn't broken. If a supplement doesn't work or causes an adverse reaction, then it's probably a good idea to toss it.

I'm using Evinature products, and they have really helped me a lot in a short amount of time. Their customer service is great as well. Helped stop my bleeding, and helped firm up my stools.
