Today I got the results of my April endoscope and colonoscopy. My stomach was mildly inflamed, and I was flaring only 30 cm from the bottom. That's down from 42 last scope. So I'm advised to stay on oral 5ASA and had added Proctofoam and or the ointment (for short term use ) rectal inflammation...these have a good response

The Gastroenterologist also said to cut out coffee and chocolate...something that I'm attached to, and sugar and fried food....then take Metamucil daily. But when I feel better, I will sample that chocolate I'm missing.

Good to hear inflammation has receded! Can you not use mesamaine enemas? Im surprised no PPI for your stomach.
What ointment can reach the rectum?

Q....i did use the enemas with success a number of years ago. I had a bunch left but they are now expired. The color is dark beige. And we are going on vacation in a few days, and they take up a whole suitcase.
The ointment is called Proctol ( Hemorrhoidal ointment) it's antibacterial Corticosteroid, Anorectal Therapy. It's for inside and out, comes with an applicator for internal that can reach a couple inches in.
I am also getting Proctofoam to bring. Hopefully I won't need them, but reassured I have them.
What is PPI?

The PPI (proton pump inhibitor) usually used to reduce stomach inflammation.

Let us know how the meds work...im still confused why you aren't getting mesalamine enemas.
