Like HaleyA I started September of last year and have never changed from 5mg per Kg every 6 weeks, after loading doses. So much better! Look at my join date, 2010 so it has been a long struggle.
After Remicade Calprotectin has gone from very low (11) to high normal (44). Any normal result is a first. That could be the usual lab variation, not a trend I hope.
The specialist recommends a repeat scope with biopsies 6 to 9 months after starting the infusions. The report shows "mild chronic most consistent with quiescent colitis". A report from an unaffected area reads "no evidence of active, chronic or microscopic colitis".
Can I sing the Hallelujah Chorus or do I have a way to go to reach remission? I can live with the symptoms, just a rare annoying morning.

After I was in symptomatic remission, a colonoscopy showed microscopic inflammation. I think that was about 6-8 months after I began entyvio infusions. The next scope (another 6-10 months later?) showed full remission with no active inflammation. The gut takes long time to heal completely.

Wow, congrats! Posts like these give me hope. Ive been dealing with UC flares for over 20 years and look forward to what Remicade will do for me. I achieved remission with Imuran but the medicine after many years was causing lots of skin cancer so it had to be stopped, then Covid, then one of the worst flares of my life. Currently waiting for approval for Remicade.
