Hello!
Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a rather strange situation going on at the moment, and can't find any information about it online.

I've had a virus the last few days, and the symptoms are concurrent with the infant's virus Roseola. I just returned from Urgent Care, where they confirmed there's a strong possibility that's what I have.

I've come across a few articles that allude to people with compromised immune systems being able to catch Roseola, but nothing very concrete.

So, out of curiosity...has anyone encountered this before?

Thanks!
Rose

I've never heard of it or even any idea if I ever had it as a child....so looked it up as well. It's a herpes virus and spread by droplets or saliva on cups, utensils etc.

Did you still check for Covid?

I'm curious what your symptoms were/are.
I hope you're able to control the symptoms until the virus has run its course.

Feel better soon,

Thank you q, I feel alright!

I have the very baseline symptoms: a sudden, very high fever that is tampering off after a few days, and a non-itchy, painless rash across my torso that spreads as the fever tampers. No real GI symptoms to mention, thankfully. Nothing respiratory or flu-like.

I took an at-home for COVID and it was negative. The doc at urgent care didn't even mention COVID, so I think he ruled that out pretty quickly.

None of my family, friends, or coworkers have gotten sick, either (~15 people in all that I spent a week hanging out with every day), including my SO. Which would make some sense if it is roseola, since it only effects babies. (And me apparently!)

IDK, just a weird situation.

Thanks for the response!

Apparently, it can affect adults if one hasn't had Roseola as a child, but isn't common.
It's good you're feeling better.
