With all the chatter about alternative medicine I found this to be informative ... not just in relation to IBD, but just in general.

Some people do have a lot of success with other options....gluten and dairy being common a lot. I think the issue here is believing that there is one single cure of path of action that will end IBD as we currently know it. All that nonsense about "root cause of IBD" spoofed in the other thread. IBD is a collection of lots of different similar but genetically different conditions. Good luck to some if stuff like gluten and antioxidants work for them. But this is not a generic cure and it is quack-like to suggest otherwise.

Not sure if you read it, the top link is 30 "ways to spot quacks and vitamin pushers"

Oh look, another trolling call-out thread by the usual suspects. Not surprised whatsoever.

You guys should be totally ashamed of yourselves for bashing the attempts of people to try and get well and keep hope alive just because they have decided conventional medicine doesn't work for them. You should also be ashamed for trolling threads and disrupting them despite the express wishes of their participants, only to cause trouble and get threads closed. You've found your dubious approach and you keep using it. Seriously, you guys are a piece of work.

You don't care about people's personal stories. You don't care about unconventional protocols that worked for people. You don't care about pursuit of root causes. You insert pseudoskepticism into everything that isn't your preferred method (google pseudoskepticism to find out why you're not real skeptics). And you certainly don't care about human decency and letting people have conversations that matter to them without inserting your smug, aggressive, antagonizing opinions.

What do you care about apart from your sociopathic agenda? Has your experience with UC made you this jaded that you've made it your personal mission to crush others? From the safety and anonymity of behind a computer screen, no less.

Keep up the good work. You are a real credit to humanity.

All,

I'd be inclined to ignore replies now from Van Jordan. If ppl engage with him / her then it will end up in a very big argument again and likely most of our posts will be shut down by moderators. But even more importantly than that VJ is the type of person who craves attention and being at the centre of all this spoof talk and dishing out his / her knowledge so as to "fight the power". The less you give him / her to work with here the bigger the insult for him / her. Ignore it...it will fade away!

I certainly won’t be ignoring Van Jordan. I think he/she has a lot to offer people on this forum and I don’t see the need to cast doubt over it. It amazes me how nasty alot of ppl are on this forum. At the end of the day we all want the same thing. Why do so many ppl find the need to be rude, and nasty. I could see damo was Cleary taking jabs at van Jordan
