What’s your experience with Modulen IBD powder for UC? Is there a similar ‘no dairy version’?

It states lactose and gluten free...what issue do you have with dairy?

I typically avoid all Dairy products - low fat , no fat, full fat- because they make me feel bloated and don’t suit me.I can have them occasionally like once a week but not on a daily basis and this appears to be a daily nutrition supplement. Even lactose free milk seems to bother me. Plant and nut milks work very well for me though I did not see this product listed as lactose free . Only saw Gluten free and Halal mentioned . Seems to be advertised more for Crohn’s but I know some doctors are also recommending it for UC.
I have tried Ensure before and though I love the taste it doesn’t suit me either. Probably more because of the additives Maltodextrin and carrageenan .

Probably best to avoid it then. What's the reason youre wanting to use a food supplementation?

My elderly dad has been admitted in the hospital over a heart attack and since I am caregiver things are very hectic and stressful for me right now. Practically living in the hospital these days and it has become a nightmare to cook and plan my own meals. I am pretty much skipping meals or just grabbing a snack some days and eating very poorly planned meals myself just because they are quick and I have to dash . I was hoping to find a food supplement/replacement drink so that it kind of helps me be nutritionally balanced for the next week or atleast till he is out of hospital since I am finding it difficult to put together healthy, balanced meals for myself right now or grocery shop or cook and I don’t want to send myself into a flare with a poor diet topping all the stress. I am already getting acidity or something like that by now since this from all the untimely eating.

Being a caregiver is extremely stressful, and even more so when hospitalization is involved. Please take the time to take care of yourself too (I know it’s easier said than done) but the stress can definitely lead you to a flare if you’re not careful — speaking from experience here. At least try to grab a good low sugar yogurt. There are some nut milk based yogurts. Maybe take frequent walks around the corridors. Walking is always mind soothing for me. Wishing you the best!
