I've used prescribed dicyclomine for almost 34 years...daily. it's an antispasmodic and works for me. Some people may be proned to megacolon and that's the precaution.

When I’m not eating well and overwork, my heart will race too and leave me feeling really weak.
Prednisone has a know effect of making you “testy”. Does for me.
The dicyclomine you can just take as needed when you feel crampy. It doesn’t have any other affect on your illness than to relieve cramping, which can actually help a bit with diarrhea.
Check the ingredient list on the ensure. For one it has lots of sugar. Sometimes they’re soy based too or whey based and both can cause problems for some people.

All that labwork is going to be extremely expensive without insurance, just FYI. Infections might not even show up now if your antibiotic fought it off already.

I already paid my doctor 200 for the blood work and stool sample test. I still need to goto the lab. I already stooped the ensure as it was messing me up more and also discovered gas x can cause mild diarrhea so I stopped taking that today as well. I feel rather good when everything is out of my just still weak from not eating as much and not eating what I normally consume. I believe it is bacterial and I'm on the way to recovery just need a bit more time to recuperate. Thanks again

Oh, that's not much. I guess they must not be doing very intensive testing because a c diff or calprotectin alone would be more than that. Yep, no problem.

My doc said if I went to the lab alone it would cost around 600. I payed him instead and he wrote the order. I believe c diff was on there. On a positive note when I'm home and relaxed I feel much better getting my taste for food back and smelling French fries dosent make me want to throw up anymore. Has a small about of lean steak today. I'm getting there I am sure I lost 5 lbs at least. I was 5'9 140 before sickness so I can't afford to lose more.

Update feeling alot better since off the Flagyl. Things are starting to look good. Must if been bacterial. Still got to take blood text on Tuesday and sign up for insurance. Just got bill from hospital and it was almost 8k. Ridiculous in this country a bill can be so high for less then 2hrs of work. I will keep update but I think I'm in the clear for now.

That really sucks about the bill if all it was was food poisoning. :/ On the bright side, sounds like you only had food poisoning.
