It’s been 5 years this month since my take down . My pouch finally seemed to settle down earlier this year. I still go to the bathroom 15 times a day but it’s not a big deal
In the last year or so I have been experiencing the feeling of being bloated . It only happens let’s say once a month . It’s usually after a small meal ( rice cake , sandwich etc..) it lasts for 4-5 hours it feels like I went to a Chinese food buffet and filled up 5 times . It’s a terrible feeling but one I didn’t pay a lot of attention too just figured it’s my digestive system . Then Saturday night I woke up at in severe pain I couldn’t touch my stomach it was all tender right below my breast bone past my ribs had nothing to do with my pouch is a completely different feeling if I didn’t know any better I would’ve said I’m constipated that I hadn’t gone to bathroom in days and that’s anything but true. My other half wanted to take me to the hospital I was trying to avoid that saying i am sure it will go away give it a couple more minutes I kept waiting till about a 40 mins later it finally subsided away but I had put a heating pad on my stomach that’s only thing I could do seemed to help a bit. After that we finally fell asleep on Sunday I just took it easy had one small little lunch and that’s all I ate during the day still was feeling bloated the severe pain was gone but the tenderness was still there but not as bad as Saturday night . Later on in the evening my back started bugging me in the middle on the top and I thought OK this is weird I don’t usually suffer from Back pain going to look up the symptoms. And I came to gallbladder disease and issues
Was wondering if anyone with a pouch has run into any of these issues . Ohh I also have often 2-3 times a week bright yellow looks like bile poop coming out of my back door in the early morning. Just thought that was normal for a j poucher now wondering if it has anything to do with my gallbladder
Ps I got a Dr appointment with my GP this afternoon. Trying to see my gastro is like winning the lottery here in Canada .
Thanks

You have had surgery and are still going 15x/day? Just curious -- why do you say that's not a big deal?

My first thought when you described your bloating issues is that you could have a stricture or partial blockage.

I would think it it's something to do with the gall bladder there are tests that could confirm that. Let us know what the doc says.

Yeah, something is definitely going on... you should put in a call to your GI asap. Hopefully, you'll get in sooner than later. Otherwise, urgent care might be easier to get in than emergency. Imaging will be a must.

Please let us know what your decision is and where you'll be going. Don't put it off.

Will do thanks 😊
Unfortunately it’s been an on going issue the number of bathroom trips . And after a few pouch scopes , fecal transplant, they really can’t tell the reason. Most of the time it’s pure liquid and doesn’t trouble me . The first three years I practically crawled away from each bathroom trip . I did find out from the pathology report that they did also remove some of my small intestine which may be the problem of my frequent bathroom visits.

I am hoping my GP can put in a referal if one needs to be done asap
If you go more then 1 year without seeing him you need a new referal . I am just over a year . Will see what she suggests . I did read there is a very high chance of getting gallbladder issues 63 % if you have an colectomy.
At least it will make sense the bloating feeling I often get .

Will keep you posted

Had mine out 24 years ago indigestion then went to excruciating chest pain thought I was having a heart attack. Gallbladder will let you know and no uncertain terms the pain is exquisite. Ultrasound confirmed mine looked like a bean bag. No issues in the last 24 years at least with bile ducts. Old Mike

Valli nice but not nice to see you here
You think u have gallbladder issues
I have chronic kidney stones.
I'd still have surgery even if I knew about kidney stone issues
Hey when u have BM is it like when we had a colon?? Spits?? Urge to go even when it's barely anything??
Crazy how surgery works for each of us?
My BMs are 2-3-4-5 day. Depends on my food intake
How are kids?? Cold up there already? We had a mild fall here in The Big Apple
Hope you get answers for what's bothering you. God bless and be well

Hey 3TC nice hearing from you. How’s the family ? How’s the hernia I know you had surgery but wasn’t sure if it was acting up again ? Are you still working long hours ?

Weather is cold and depressing here sad I do hate our winters . We just got back from the DR 2 weeks ago those 10 days will have to last me till our spring here in April . Who needs sunshine and green grass all over rated lol lol

I remember you telling me a few years ago you only go 1-2 times a day and I was thinking lucky guy . Even under 5 I would take that.
The food part surprisingly doesn’t always make much of a difference. What I drink tends to come out in poop also . I believe my back door just wants to stay open lol
Mine are all over the place but mostly all liquid it comes out like a fountain. I prefer it like that otherwise the slightly formed ones give me more trouble .

Going for an ultrasound tomorrow morning at 9 am then blood work to follow . Doctor wasn’t sure but wanted to do some tests she poked around my abdomen for a few minutes it wasn’t as tender as Saturday but it definitely hurt a bit.
Still feeling bloated and trying not to eat anything too large .
Ps I hit notify me by email and I never get notifications . Wondering if my email here is incorrect. Hmm will check that out .

When was the last time you had your pouch scoped?

I go 2-6 times a day. My GI says that I have a large pouch.

Hi Ks1905 My last scope was 2021 and it showed some pouchitis I went back on antibiotics and a few weeks later it cleared up.

My pouch doesn’t hold a lot guessing it may be smaller since I go so often .

Hey Valli. Family is good. My Son Eddie is doing his 2 tour over in Middle East(he is in Kuwait). Girls are fine. Supposed to have 2nd hernia surgery middle of January. Just had episode this week where I went to ER bc of possible food poisoning/virus. Dr wanted a cat scan and it came back that I MIGHT have a obstructed intestine. They were quessing bc scan showed my pouch was filled. It was filled bc I was wiped out and couldn't get out of bed to use bathroom. Still trying to get my strength back from nausea, everything running thru me. Tough week
Girlfriend I've been dating for a year is from DR. Was in Cap Cana in September. Absolutely beautiful. Where did u stay??
Going to Aruba Jan 6th for 4 days
Have not seen Song on here for awhile. Hope she's well. Tough road for her with the cancer
I heard gall bladder pain is like kidney stone pain
If so that's not fun
Stay safe and healthy as possible
Have a great holiday and keep us updated on what the issue is😊

Hi Valli - sorry for your troubles. My husband had his gall bladder out a few years ago and it was all uneventful.
Hi Champ - gosh, sprry for the kidney stones and the food poispning/virus! I am trying to stay away from germs. I should start a new thread rather than hijacking Valli's, but I wanted to respond here. But it's good to n"see" both of you, and others, on here.
