Hi guys, I failed on Remicade maximum dose every 4 weeks. I only lasted a year.
So GI doc changed my medication to Stelera.
I've just had my loading dose of Stelara yesterday.
Any advice on what to expect? eg side effects, medication working time frame etc.
would be appreciated also.
Thank you..

I’m on inflectra (remicade’s sister) and seems i’m failing it too. Did it ever put you in remission during that 1 year? Did you ever see any significant improvement from Remicade?

I started Stelara in September. Bleeding stopped a few weeks after my first infusion. I just took my second shot today and have been off of steroids for three weeks. I haven’t noticed any side effects- I’m a little tired on shot day but that’s it. Good luck!

Stelera can be relatively slow. In fact many have a late reaction to it, as in 8-10 weeks.

I love Stelara!! It gave me my life back. I have minimal side effects: sometimes a bit itchy after the injection but I take benadryl prior, and sometimes feel a bit tired after the injection. The only problem I have is getting insurance to cover it monthly, which is the level that works for me.

It didn't work for me. I got a minor rash while on it that was easily treated (due to overgrowth of yeast) and never returned. No other side effects.
