Hi all! I had a flex sig the other day and my doc seemed a bit concerned over the amount of scarring in my intestines. It was a lot of scarring. He was pointing it out on the moniter. Has anyone had experience with this? I am not sure what he is concerned about. I was more focused on talking about the drugs he wants me on (waiting for prometheus test to come back though he wants remicade). I thought i remember something about scarring and a narrowing of the intestine. How does it affect flares? Do those areas not flare because of the scars or is it worse becuase it's flaring under the scar? I'm just a bit confused. Thanks for any info!

I too have significant scarring throughout my large intestine. No one ever explained to me the reason for concern, but I assume scarring can lead to strictures can lead to obstructions. I'm sure it still flares even though it is scarred, which maybe can make the scarring worse? I'm sorry I can't offer more insight. I will have to try and research this today, I'm interested now as well.
