I have just had my renewal for my car insurance through and there is a statement about informing the insurance company about any medical conditions. I do not think my UC affects my driving in any way, and so I have tended to ignore this statement in the past as they would probably try to use it as an excuse to increase my premiums. But I am conscience of the fact they could refuse to pay out in the event of a claim.

Has anyone else declared their UC, if so has it affected your premiums?

No we have not declared that. My opinion is medical conditions that require you to be on seizure type meds or heart conditions. That type of thing. In Mass the questions were very direct in that area of medical conditions not just a generic blanket question.

I agree.....when I got my license renewed in December they asked if I had any medical conditions....then elaborated and asked about heart or seizure conditions.

My husband works for state farm. He says the question really means "do you have any physical or mental condistions that could affect the safe operation of a motor vehicle?" He is an insurance textbook. No you don't ned to report your UC. Htey want to know about parkinsons, epilepsy, ect. No need to worry or say anything.
